DOWNTOWN NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION

Meet Your Neighbours @ ManyFest and the Downtown Community Picnic

DCRA_picnic2014_img2Helping downtown residents connect with their neighbours is one of the reasons the Downtown Community Residents’ Association exists. It’s also a ton of fun, which is why we’re hoping that we get to see, meet and mingle with alot of you this month!

ManyFest is “downtown’s biggest street festival” and we’ve been a part of it for the last several years. It’s a great opportunity to get people downtown and connect with fellow residents and we’ll have our outdoor living room set up again this year so you can swing by for a chat or some free, homemade iced tea.

We’ll be out for the whole day on Sunday and you can find us in the Ciclovia section. So, hop on your bike, grab something from the food trucks and come and crash at our pad for a while. It’s what good neighbours do!

And the weekend after ManyFest the DCRA will be throwing a somewhat smaller affair on the East Lawn of the Legislature. We’re calling it the First Annual Downtown Community Picnic so bring a lunch, grab a blanket and spend some time getting to know your awesome neighbours.

What: First Annual Downtown Community Picnic

Where: Manitoba Legislature, East Lawn

When: Saturday, Sept. 13 @ Noon

Why: Because everybody needs to eat and everything is better on a blanket.

WINNIPEG’S DNA:

is composed of residents who live in the areas between the Assiniboine River, Memorial Boulevard, Portage Avenue, and the Forks (South Portage, Legislature, and Broadway / Assiniboine communities).

We're building a stronger community, working together, and raising a voice for the Downtown!
