Notices from the City have raised concerns with some residents in the downtown about available residential parking. With the help of their councilor, Harvey Smith, the residents of Colony Square residents have raised their concerns with city. The residents plan to attend a council meeting July 9th at 5pm – City Council, where Harvey Smith has asked to move the item onto the agenda.
As copied from the notice:
“2013 Residential parking permits will be issued to residents who live on a residential street that have one or two hour residential time restrictions”. Colony Square, like some other downtown properties, do not qualify as “residential streets” and are therefore exempt.
See Colony Square’s petition here. If your block is having a similar issue, let us know. We’d like to see if this issue is affecting anyone else.
Also, if you’re interested in talking about this further or moving this item to action, come to our upcoming Thursday Night Coffee talk. The theme is on the SHED downtown, but we can easily shift our focus to this item if there is enough interest.
