13.04.28 – Regular Meeting – Minutes

Here were some highlights from the meeting:

  • In the Year-Plan, we’re looking to place more time-specific goals on the areas that say “TBD.” We want to start moving forward with events and get back to a more casual atmosphere at some of our meetings.  You can go to this link to find our year plan which will be updated and shared regularly: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cFmLGoNPswmrk4WL5fQ6gfG4J5Cv6WDxW7GqInLDwwg/edit?usp=sharing
  • The website is functional and is looking smooth. We have yet to decide 100% how we want the website to be used. We’re going to use it to post documents and DCRA events, but we’ll also post other community events when we know about them. In the future, we might look at creating content to put on the website.
  • The Grocery Store Working Group has taken a different direction. It will take the role of a system of online communication between the different parties who are interested and engaged with getting a downtown grocery store. Members of the DCRA attended a City Council meeting Monday to hear CentreVenture’s presentation on their business analysis. Following the Council meeting, we have organized a meeting with the CEO of CentreVenture to establish a working relationship.
  • Other notes: We have accepted the resignation of Director Kelvin Peters. We are sad to see him leave our group, but understand the difficult circumstances he has been in with the closure of Arkadash. The DCRA welcomes new members.
