DOWNTOWN NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION

Meeting Minutes 16.11.12 – Final prep for First Meeting

We held a short meeting yesterday at the Fyxx on Broadway at 6:30pm.  The meeting was used to finalize the laundry list of items for our first meeting.  Some notes:

  • Our meeting poster was put up in several places downtown, but as posters come and go, we still need help by putting them up again.  Print our poster and put it up in your apartment block, your coffee shop, or where ever.
  • We probably will not have a snack sponsor for our event, so it is looking more like a donation call to our guests.  If you can bring a box of cookies, a bag of chips, it would be greatly appreciated.  We’ll have napkins and free Starbucks coffee on hand.
  • Though we will have pens, paper, and some hand outs, the DCRA is still running on a non-budget.  Please bring pens, markers, and paper to our event.
  • We are looking to promote our first official AGM in the new year in January.  We hope to announce this at the First Meeting on November 25th.  This meeting will be used to appoint a governing board of directors, approve our governing documents, and approve a budget.

If you have any suggestions or other items we may have missed for our upcoming First Meeting, please email us at downtowncommunity@gmail.com.  We hope to see you out.
