DOWNTOWN NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION

Minutes from Meeting 25/10/12 – more AGM 0.0 planning

We had a great meeting yesterday with a lot of new faces added to our little coffee group—we hope to see you guys back. Also a big thank you to Gabrielle from Radio Canada for coming out to see what we’re all about.

Our meeting focused again on AGM 0.0 which is coming along rather nicely. We are just a few steps away at securing an awesome venue secured by David (big thank you, sir) and an invite will be posted as soon as we can finalize it.  Look out as we are hoping to hold this meeting a month from now.

We added a few more elements to the agenda of AGM 0.0 including the prospects of having key neighbourhood stakeholders in our neighbourhood holding a mini panel presentation during the Issues section of the night.  We would invite such as speakers from City Hall, the Biz, and the Winnipeg Police to tell us briefly what kind of a downtown they’d like to see.  Added to this, there are other guests and key partners in the neighbourhood we’d like to invite to our meeting including local post-secondary schools, aboriginal interest groups, and other neighbourhood associations.

In other logistics, we almost have a coffee sponsor for the night, but we don’t have snacks!  So for the time being, until we can figure out something, it’s BYOCookies and munchies.  Be sure to bring pens for our sticky board feedback session.

More later.   Look out for our invite to AGM 0.0 soon.
