The multitude of surface parking lots in the South Portage area have long been an issue for residents of the area.

Aside from the eyesore (empty or full), surface parking lots are a downtown’s worst nightmare. These lots detract from countless development possibilities, from parks, to housing, to multi-use facilities.

Discussions on how to best develop these lots should be held with area residents, as well as with local businesses in order to build our community to serve the community’s needs.
